Brief history of the Algeria flag:
On 3rd July 1962 the Algerian flag came into being and can be seen in the line of different country flags. This flag was made when the Algerians were fighting for an independent state with the French. When Algeria army defeated French army then at that time this flag was adopted as a national flag of Algeria. Later on, Algerian flag was recognized by the Algeria coat of arms and was officially recognized on 1st November 1976.
There are some important facts related to the Algerian flag. When the Algeria’s flag came into the world of different country flags then a rumor was spread that this Algerian flag is adopted or inspired from freedom fighter’s flag. The freedom fighter was working under the command of a military ruler named Abdul Kadir, in the era of 19th century. The flag of the freedom fighter also contain two vertical strips with green and white color, and also a crescent and star in it. The crescent is a symbol of Islamic flag. In most of the Islamic country flags one can see crescent on a flag.

Official Description Of The Algerian Flag:
The flag is divided vertically into two portions: white and green. The white color is on the right hand side and the green color is on the left hand side of the flag of Algeria. At the middle of the Algeria’s flag there is a crescent and a star. The background of the crescent and star is red. The colors used in the flag have specification like green color is pantone 356c and red color is pantone 186c. The green color is not pure green; in equal amount, there is a mixture of yellow and green color. While the pure red color is used, there is not any mixing in it.
The star made on the Algeria’s flag is in the middle of the flag. It has five branches. The two branches are towards the green portion and are attached to that portion while the other three are open in the white portion. The crescent present on the flag of Algeria is half on the white portion while the other half is on the green portion. The back side of the crescent is on the green portion while the points of the crescent are on the white portion of the Algeria’s flag.
There is a fix proportion in which the flag of Algeria is made. The flag is in a rectangle shape and the length of the Algerian flag is same as one and a half of flag’s total width. The flag of Algeria is equally divided into two parts; the first part that is adjacent to the pole is green in color, while the white part of the flag is just after the green color away from the pole.
