Angola Flag

The history of Angola flag is also painted with the blood shed of many freedom fighters. On 11th November 1975 the flag of Angola became a national flag when the Angola became an independent country and took their freedom from Portuguese. But in reality the Angola flag history is one of the old histories of a flag. In 1483 Angola was discovered by a mariner of Portuguese, but alas, it was the last country that took their independence from all the other African countries. The first flag of Angola was introduced by Portuguese in 1967, but it was not a national flag.

Later on when the Angola become an independent country then its description was changed. The general information of the Angola flag is that, it is alienated into two halves horizontally. The lower portion of the flag is black while the upper portion of the Angola flag is red. There are three Angola flag symbols. Just at the middle, the Angola flag symbols are printed which is yellow in color. The Angola flag symbols are partial cog wheel, a five corner start and a machete. One Angola flag symbol is printed on the red portion that is star, while the other Angola flag symbol that is machete is printed on the black portion of the Angola flag. While the partial cog wheel is printed half on the red portion and the other half on the black portion. The flag of Angola is made in the proportion of 2:3.

The red color on the Angola flag represent the blood shed of Angolian, during the movement of liberation and freedom fighting, and for the defense of the country. All the three Angola flag symbols are yellow in color that represents the prosperity of the country.
