Armenia Flag

The history of the Armenia flag is also dyed with the bloodshed of freedom fighters. The flag of Armenia was initially formed in the middle of the 1918 and 1921, after the era of First World War. It was just used for the identification purpose of a specific country. The Armenians gained freedom in 1991 from the Soviet Union, after a long tiring and hard struggle. When the Armenia become an independent country on 23 September 1991 and had taken their freedom from the Soviet Union, then at that time just one year before getting the independence (on 24th Aug 1990) the current Armenian flag was readopted as the national flag of Armenia. The Armenian flag was created so long before the independence of Armenia in the First World War and after the world war Armenia came under the control of Soviet Union. So in the era, in which the Armenia was under the command of Soviet Union, there was emblem of Soviet Union on the Armenia flag. But later on, when the Armenia got their freedom, that emblem was removed from the flag.

The flag of Armenia has also referred by different names such as Narndjagooyn, Karmir and Kappoyt. The meaning of these words identifies the different colors on the flag that is orange, red, and blue.

The description of the Armenian flag is very simple because no complicated emblem or different direction color lines are used. The Armenian flag drawing is also very simple, just three colored lines. The flag of Armenia is made in the proportion of 1:2. The full flag is dividing equally into three horizontal strips. The top most strip color is Red, then the Blue color horizontal strip and at last orange color horizontal strip. The Armenian flag drawing is made entirely in horizontal pattern.

There are different views regarding the meaning of Armenian flag. Some people say that the flag of Armenia depict the Mount Ararat Rainbow. Some people say that flag is inspired from the cilia kingdom banner. While some say that red shows the blood shed of freedom fighters, blue depict the Armenia land and orange shows the courage of Armenians. Moreover, the Armenia’s embassy says about the colors that the red represents the energy of the sun; the blue color represents the clear sky and the orange color shows the yield wheat. So there are many conflicting ideas and views regarding the color of the Armenia flag. But the actual and the most well known meaning of the colors in the Armenia flag is the combination of the different theories of different people given above. The color on the Armenia flag shows the bloodshed of freedom fighters after the world war against Soviet Union and also the bloodshed of soldiers of Armenia who are protecting the country from their enemies. The orange color on the flag of Armenia shows the luxuriant soil of Armenia and also the farmers of these fields who are giving their blood to these fields. While the blue color depict the color of the sky. The cool Armenian flag looks very good when flown in the official ceremonies or any other occasion.
