Bosnia Flag

so many variations since 1760 before the independence of Bosnia. First flag of Bosnia & Herzegovina was first come in 1760. Then later on the changes of Bosnia and Herzegovina flag continued for so long time. In 1830s the Bosnia Herzegovina flag was changed again in the Bosnian revolt. Then after that in 1878 Bosnia gained independence for a very short time, when the troops of ottoman left the Bosnia. But again after few months Bosnia was invaded by Austro-Hungarians and again the flag of Bosnia was changed and remained consistent until 1908. After t1908 the flag Bosnia was changed again after the rule of Austro-Hungarian. Later on, from 1945 to 1991 another flag of Bosnia was introduced. This flag looked like the old Yugoslavia flag. There was a flag of Yugoslavia at the upper left cornor of the flag and the rest of the Bosnia herzogovina flag was in red color. At this time, the Bosnia was under the rule of Yugoslavia. When Bosnia gained independence from Yugoslavia then a new flag of Bosnia was introduced. This Bosnia herzogovina flag was used officialy from 1991 to 1998, this flag had white background and the Bosnia flur-de-lis was drawn in the middle of the flag, which only depicted the Muslims of Bosnia.

So at last a new flag of Bosnia was adopted. The parliament of Bosnia was not able to decide the flag of Bosnia, so this work was done by the UN high representatives. The new flag of Bosnia has not any referance from historical point of view.

So at last, on 4th February 1998, the current flag of Bosnia was adopted as the national Bosnia flag. The Bosnia and herzogovina flag was adopted by the coat of arms on 20th may 1998. Initially the blue background was suggested for the bosnian flag to correspond the United Nations’s flag, but later on dark blue color was used.

The description of the Bosnia herzogovina flag is: the flag of Bosnia is made in the proportion of 1:2. The background of the Bosnia flag is dark blue color. There is a line of stars drawn diagonally in left to right order and in vertical direction. There are seven full stars with five points, and two half white color stars at the two ends of the line of stars. At the right side of the vertical-diagonal stars line, there is yellow colored isosceles triangle. The two cornors of the triangle are on the upper side, while one cornor is at the lower side of the Bosnia flag.

The meaning of the Bosnia flag is: the three corners of triangle on the Bosnia flag depict the three bosnian nations. One is Croats, second is Serbs, and the third one is Bosniaks. The map of Bosnia Herzegovina is also like a triangle or like a heart. Most of the people call the Bosnia Herzegovina as the nation of heart shaped. The white color seven full and two half stars on the flag of Bosnia which depict the stars of Europe. The stars start from top to bottom means: infinite in number. The yellow and blue color is inspired from the flag of European Union. The white, blue and yellow color on the flag of Bosnia depicts the peace and neutrality of country.
