Bulgaria Flag

The flag of Bulgaria had also experienced many variations: the first Bulgarian flag was adopted on 16th April 1879, when the Bulgaria gained independence from the empire of ottoman in 1878 then flag was adopted by a revolutionary organization of Bulgaria named Legia. The Legia was made in Serbia in the era of 1861 to 1862. This flag of Bulgaria contain tri-band of three color including white, green and red. Later on, according to the constitution history of Bulgaria, some amendments were placed in the constitutions of Bulgaria’s article 97 on 6th December 1947. Like there would be three horizontal strips drawn on the flag of Bulgaria with white, green and red color. On the upper left corner of the white horizontal strip of the Bulgaria flag, the Bulgaria’s coat of arms would be drawn. This amendment was valid since 18th may 1971. Then on 27th November 1990, one more amendment was occurred in the constitution of Bulgaria and that was: on the flag of Bulgaria there would be three horizontal strips, with white, green and red color and no emblem of coat of arms would be drawn on the flag of Bulgaria. The Bulgarian coat of arms was later removed from the national flag of Bulgaria from the upper white strip after 1990, the coat of arms hold a lion wild within a garland of wheat ears, under the red color five corner stars.

In this rectangle coat of arms is drawn and under the white rectangle red color small strip is drawn whose length is equal to the rectangle.

The green color was introduced in the flag of Bulgaria because the Bulgaria was known as an agriculture country. The red color on the flag of Bulgaria depicts the bravery of the Bulgarian people.
