Canada Provincial Flags
Canadian Provincial Flags begin before amalgamation; the colonies that ultimately combined into the Dominion of Canada, not often felt a need to symbolize themselves with anything other than one of the British ensigns. Certainly, on the Pacific coast seemed to be a blotched battle to the use of any local flags. In late 1868, the Admiralty approved colonial governments to put a typical brooch on the blue ensign flown on vessels of their government. In Canada on public events and official functions, the place of honor is always given to the National Flag of Canada, which is usually displayed at the great left when flown with any of the 10 Provincial and 3 Territory flags. It is a tradition in Canada that the flags of the Territories are flown in alphabetical order. However, the flag of Canada is hoisted again at the other end. When just three flags are presented, the National Flag should be at the middle. To a spectator in front of the display, the 2nd grade flag (in order of priority) is positioned to the left of middle, and the other to the right. A general grouping of flags is that the official Canada Flag with state Flags of Canada or territorial flag, and a flag of municipal or an organization's banner. In that situation, the National Flag should be in the middle with the organization's banner /municipal flag to the right and territorial /provincial flag to the left. It is then pursued by the flag of the congregate Province, and then the flags of the other Provinces according to the Province date pierced Confederation.
