Chile Flag
The history of the Chile flag is very old, back in the 18th century. The Chile flag history started from the 12th February 1818, when the Chile became an independent state and gained its independence from the Spain. It is one of the oldest flag of the world. The flag of Chile was adopted round about four months before the independence of the Chile on 18th October 1817. There is a blue color square present on the upper left corner of the Chile flag, just above the white color horizontal strip. The height of the blue square is equal to the height of the white color horizontal strip on the Chilean flag. There is a white five pointed star present in the blue color square of the Chilean flag.

While the vertical version of the Chilean flag has same colors but there is a change in the arrangement of the colored strips. There are two vertical strips on the Chile flag: at the pole side there is a white color strip while at the flown side of the flag red color strip is drawn. The length and width of both strips are equal. One thing is same in both versions of the Chile flag, that is, there is blue color square with five pointed white color star is on the upper left side of the flag, upon the white color horizontal strip is drawn.
