Colombia Flag
The Colombian nation proclaimed independence on 20th July 1810, from Spain. The national flag of Colombia was officially adopted by the Colombians on 26 November, 1861. The national flag of Colombia is considered one of the oldest flags of the world. The Colombia flag history is not so long. Colombia flag history shows that, the flag of Colombia was commonly used for the commercial purpose.
Especially Colombian flags were used by the fans of the soccer team in the stadium to support the soccer team. In the past, one of the brewery companies in Colombia sponsored the national soccer team of Colombia. That Colombian brewery company added a logo of beer on the flag of Colombia. That company distributed the flag of Colombia along with their brewery logo. So that Colombian fans when flying there national flag of Colombia they advertised that brewery product and hence became a reason of brewery product promotion. During the soccer game there were hundreds of animated Colombian flags which could be seen in the soccer stadium. Few years ago the Government of Colombia had started a campaign to protest against rough unwarranted forces and terror.
Another reason of that campaign could be, the Government wanted to express there national unity for peace. For this purpose the Colombian nation at that time used their national flag of Colombia widely outside there homes. The were highly provoked and urged by this campaign so they placed the national flag of Colombia permanently on their cars, buses ,trucks and also Colombian people added the picture Colombian flag outside their homes and workplaces. They also attached the picture of Colombian flag on their vehicles.

The national flag of Colombia description is very simple. The flag of Colombia mainly consist of three horizontal colored strips. The Colombia flag colors are very sharp and divided into three horizontal bands, from the top the first Colombia flag color is yellow, second color in the flag of Colombia is blue and the third and last one in the Colombian flag is red. The proportion of the national flag of Colombia is 2: 3. The yellow color width is larger than the other two colors in the flag of Colombia. The second lower half part of the Colombian flag is divided into two colors of horizontal strips. In the flag of Colombia after yellow there is blue band which is followed by red strip.
The meanings of the Colombia flag colors have no such history. The flag of Colombia has a famous song sung by the Colombian children’s. Song is "yellow is our gold, blue is our vast seas and red is the blood that gave us our freedom”. However there are two popular interpretations or we can say two famous theories of the Colombia flag colors. In the picture of Colombian flag the three main colors are yellow, blue, and red. Each color has own individual meaning. The first one interpretation about the Colombia flag color is:
The first yellow color of the Colombian flag demonstrates the self-governing state and justice. The second color of the Colombian flag which is blue depicts aristocracy, faithfulness and vigilance. The last and bottom portion of the Colombia flag is red which symbolizes integrity and respect, unselfish deed and willingness to give, success in the face of a challenge or victory, and that victory achieved at the cost of bloodshed.
The second theory of the Colombia flag colors is; Yellow shows universal independence. Blue color presents uniformity of all classes and races. Red color depicts brotherhood.
