Cuba Flag
The Cuba flag history has roots in the 18th century. The actual flag of Cuba was recognized in the 19th century but there was a great struggle for the Cuba independence and also for the Cuban flag. The Venezuelan, general named Narciso López, struggled a lot for the freedom of the Cuba which was under the monarchy of Spanish. The Narciso López, was the one, who had designed the 'La Estrella Solitaria’ which means that the banner with the lone star. That banner was later used as the national flag of Cuba. After the adoption of Cuba national flag it was used officially in the country. In 1950, when the Fidel castor detained the Cuba after the revolution of the communist in Cuba, even after that the Cuban flags was still used. The Cuba became an independent state in 1902 after gaining independence from Spain. At that time the flag of Cuba was adopted first time on 20th May 1902 and it was declared as the Cuban national flag. The national flag of Cuba was approved by the coat of arms on 24th April 1906. The most important Cuba flag facts is that; as the Cuba was under the power of span so many countries in the mid of 1800 tried there best to set free Cuba from the rule of Spain. Because most of people wanted that the island of Cuba became a part of the United States of America. It might be the reason that red, white and blue colors and a star are added in the flag of Cuba. After the war between Spain and America, the America had taken the control of Cuba and from 1st January 1899 to 20th May 1902 the flag of America was flown on the Cuba.

The description of the flag of Cuba is simple; the Cuban flag is made in the proportion of 1:2. There are five horizontal strips on the Cuba flags. The size of all the strips on the Cuban flags is same. Three horizontal strips on the Cuban flag are blue while the two horizontal strips are of white color on the flag of Cuba. The topmost horizontal strip on the flag of Cuba is of blue color. The middle horizontal strip on the Cuban national flag is also of blue color. The last horizontal strip on the flag of Cuba is also blue in color. The other two horizontal strips between these blue strips are of white color on the Cuba flag. There is a red color triangle at the left side of the flag of Cuba; the direction of this triangle is towards the horizontal strips. The pointed corner of the triangle on the Cuban flag is pointed towards the middle blue color horizontal strip of the flag. There is white color star having five corners present at the center of the red color triangle.
The meaning of the Cuban flag is simple; the blue color on the flag of Cuba depicts the three island’s old divisions. The two white color strips on the flag of Cuba depict the independent ideal Cuban state strength. While the red color triangle on the flag of Cuba depicts the bloodshed of freedom fighters, equal opportunity, union and liberty of Cuba. The white color star depicts the complete liberty of the people of Cuba.
