Eritrea Flag
The history of the Eritrea flag is not very old, and has its roots only in the last era of the 19th century. The flag of Eritrea is one of the most recent flag of the world. Eritrea became a self-governing state on 24th May 1993. At that time there was need of an official Eritrean flag, therefore, the government of Eritrea adopted a new flag of Eritrea. The coat of arms of Eritrea approved the flag of Eritrea on 24th May 1993. Later on, after two years of the Eritrea independence, the Eritrean flag was adopted as the national flag of Eritrea on 5th December 1995.
The design of the flag of Eritrea is taken from the liberation front flag design which was the part of the Eritrea people. Those people fought for the freedom of Eritrea and played a great role in the freedom of Eritrea.

The description of the Eritrean flag is little bit complicated. The flag of Eritrea is made in the proportion of 1:2. At the first look of the Eritrean flag, it seems that there are three triangles on the flag of Eritrea. The top triangle and the bottom triangle are slightly small in size and are of green and blue in color. The central triangle on the Eritrean flag is of red color and is slightly bigger than the other two triangles of the flag of Eritrea, and within the red triangle there is a wreath of red color. But the actual description of the Eritrean flag is different; there are two horizontal strips on the flag of Eritrea. The upper strip is of green color and the lower horizontal strip is of blue color. Both of these strips are of equal size, both in length and in the width. There is red color triangle drawn at the hoist part of the flag of Eritrea and the front corner of the triangle is facing towards the flown part of the Eritrean flag. This red color triangle is drawn upon the two horizontal strips. There is a yellow color wreath drawn on the flag of Eritrea.
The meaning of the Eritrean flag is not complicate like the design of the flag. The Eritrea’s livestock economy and the crop growing are pictures on the green color of the flag of Eritrea. The red color on the flag of Eritrea depicts the bloodshed of the freedom fighters, during the war for the independence of Eritrea. The nautical affluence of the Eritrea is depicted by the blue color on the Eritrean flag. While the yellow color on the Eritrean flag depicts the Eritrea mineral assets. The olive garland and twigs on the Eritrean flag is taken from the initial national flag of Eritrea that was used in the era of 1952 to 1959. The olive garland is actually taken from the flag of United Nations, which depicts the peace.
