Estonia Flag
The history of the Estonia flag has traces in the 19th century. But the actual roots of the flag Estonia is in 18th century. In 1880, a union was made by the students of Estonian’s university, and the flag flown by that union has blue, black and white color and know as the colors of fraternity. The flag of Estonia was used in the freedom struggle of Estonia. The Estonia was under the rule of Russia for two times. The Estonia was under the rule of Russia for very long time. In the era of Russian revolution, both in 1905 and in 1917, the flag of Estonia was flown as a sign of freedom from the Russia. The Estonia has taken independence from Russia on 1918, so at that time, the Estonian flag was first adopted as the national flag of Estonia on 21st November 1918. But for a second time in June 1940, the Russia has taken the rule of Estonia and banned the use and flown of the Estonia flag in the state. So until freedom of the Estonia from the rule of Russia, the flag was banned. But after a very long time and continuous struggle of the Estonian martyrs, on 20th August 1991, Estonia regained its freedom from the Russia. Then at that time the flag of Estonia was flown again in the Estonia. The design of the flag of Estonia which is in use currently as the official flag of Estonia was made in December 1990. Officially the Estonian flag was adopted on 7th August 1990 and approved by the coat of arms on 16th October 1990.
