Iowa Flag
The 21st March 1921 is the date when the Iowa’s flag was actually adopted by the government of Iowa as a state symbol. The history of Iowa state flag has roots only in the starting era of 19th century. Iowa became the state of United States of America on 28th December 1846. Iowa came in the union of the America at the end of 20th series, as Iowa is the 29th number country which acquired the place of statehood. While the Iowa flag was adopted after a long period approximantly after more than a half century of the Iowa statehood recognition that is after seventy five years of becoming the statehood. The Iowa history is older than the adoption of the Iowa flag history, more than a half century difference is a very big difference between the flag adoption and the statehood recognition. The other name of the Iowa or the nick name or the name by which Iowa is known is Hawkeye state. The design of the flag was given long time ago but it received a final push by the Iowa national Guardsmen, when they were fighting in World War 1 and they felt the need for their national insignia. So after their suggestion and desire the flag was came into existence.
Iowa flag is one that comprises of a strategic design, nicely distributed and arranged colors. The proportions are 2:3 respectively. Three different colored stripes are present on the National Flag of Iowa. These three stripes are divided as: two strips have colors and one has a picture. Its design is easy to explain to everyone. And anyone can get a clear interpretation of its colors and design online. There are, as mentioned earlier, three stripes: one stripe is on the left that is of the color blue. The stripe on the far left side of the flag is of the color red. The stripe in the center is of the color white and that has a picture made in its center part. The banner of white color and has a blue outline. “Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain” these are the words printed on the banner. There is also another piece of writing that present on the National Flag of Iowa and that is in a bold font all in capital letters and the color of that font is red. The word written there is the name of the state.
