Iran Flag

The National Flag of Iran is the one the flag which was officially adopted as the national flag to represent the country on the 29th of July 1980. The designing and the coloration of the Flag of Iran is very traditional. The former National Flag of Iran was used till the year 1933 and had been being used since the year 1905 had a pink stripe as well in it but that design is seen to have been changed in the year 1933 and the pink stripe was made into the color red. It is also a known fact as seen through history that the Country Iran was a Monarchy and that remained a monarchy till about as seen that for 400 years and it wasn’t until the year 1979 that a republic was declared. That happened after a great struggle when the Muslim Clerics and the students fought and over threw the last Shah rule.

The National Flag of Iran meaning has a very simple design and coloration, if anyone was to ask that was are the colors used and the design of the National Flag of Iran the answer would be a very simple one and that would be three colors and a very simply designed flag. The National Flag of Iran as mentioned above is divided into three equally sized and horizontally shaped stripes.

The colors used in these stripes are green, red and white respectively. The top most stripe is of the color green, the second stripe which is also the middle stripe is of the color white and the last stripe is of the color red. Situated in the in the center part of the white stripes that is present in the National Flag of Iran and picture there is the monogram of the country’s coat of arms and that monogram comprises of the picture of four crescents and a sword. The edge of the white stripe that goes and blends with the green and red stripes has on its borders several Arabic natured writings that are in a stylized font. The writings are placed in such a manner that that they over lap and fall into both the green as well red colored stripes independently. The meaning and significance of the colors used and the design of the National Flag of Iran Company are very traditional keeping in mind the country’s history and religion which is mainly Islam that is given unique representation by the use of the color green. The old flag of Iran is same. The virtues of purity and peace are both represented by the use of the color white. The Iranian revolution took place in the year 1979 and the exact date for that happening is the 11th of February and that day along with its significance is represented by the writings that are present on the white stripe border on the National Flag of Iran the words written are Allah-o Akbar which when translated means God is Great and that is written a total of 22 times the font style used for that writing is Kufi script. Strength and fortitude is represented by the use of the monogram of the country’s coat of arms that is present as mentioned earlier. The monogram is also symbolic of the Muslim faith and growth. The emblem has been made in such a design that from far it would read the word “Allah” or God. The proportions of the Iranian flag are 4;7 respectively.
