Iraq Flag

The National Flag of Iraq is one which was adopted officially as the national flag for the country’s representation on the 31st July 1963. The National Flag of Iraq had experienced slight modification to its design on 13th January in the year 1991. In the year 1991, the words Allah-o Akbar were added on the flag in the year 1963, when the country was fighting gulf war on 13th January 1991. Basically it is the original takbir which is written in Arabic script. The design of the picture of the National Flag of Iraq changed four times when Iraq became an independent country in the year 1921. The Arab liberation flag is said to be the one which influenced the design of the National Flag of Iraq. Iraq received freedom after fighting for its independence against British monarchy in the year 1932 dated 3rd October. The Iraqi flag was introduced by an army officer of Egypt who was part of 1952 coup d`etat, which deposed the rule of Egypt.

There are some important facts about the flag of Iraq. When the America invaded Iraq in 2003, then after a year America made a so-called government in the country in 2004. In April 2004 the new flag was proposed but no action was taken for changing the flag. Later on, on 28th June 2004 a ceremony was held, when the new interim government of Iraq was made and new flag of Iraq was introduced. That flag was also made on the same pattern of 1991 flag. But it was wider, and the stars and writing on the flag was more loosely spread on the flag across the width of the flag. It is considered by most of the people of Iraq that’s the writing on the flag is sadam Hussein writing, who was the former president of Iraq, hanged by the America after invade of Iraq by America army for getting the rule and oil of country.

The flag is one that has been considered to be one of its kinds. The theme, colors and design totally refer to any Islamic country flag. The proportions of the National Flag of Iraq are 2:3 respectively. The three colors are distributed along the flags design in the form of three horizontal stripes and those are equal in width. The top most stripes is of the color Red in the Iraq Flag and the middle stripe which would technically be the second stripe is of the color white, the bottom most or the last stripe on the National Flag of Iraq is of the color black. In the center stripe on the new National Flag of Iraq there is present that words which are written in Arabic script and those are Allah-o Akbar and those words when translated to the English language hold the meaning God is great. That is what the answer would be to the question as to what is the inscription of the Iraq flag. The words are also known as Takbir and that is what their meanings are. the words are written in the color green and have three five pointed stars made one on each side of the two words and one in the middle separating the two words they are also in the color green. Red black and green known as the pan-Arab colors are used to represent the country’s main religion which is Islam green in particular is used to represent that. The white is used to represent peace and purity. The three colors are also said to stand to show the unity of Arab countries and the Arab people.
