Ireland Flag
Ireland adopted the current National flag of Ireland officially as the National flag of the country for representing itself on a world wide basis on 29th of December and the exact year of that event was the year 1937. It is seen through history that the flag was first used as the National flag of Ireland shortly after the French revolution in the year 1848 and the flag of Ireland is said to be greatly influenced by the design and coloration of the national flag of France. It is also a noted factor in the year 1916 when the Easter rising took place and that would be better know as the nationalists rising against the British rule in the country and it was after the tricolor flag was officially regarded as the National flag of Ireland. Ireland is then split into two halves by the British and became two separate states: the North east part which consists of Protestants agreed to remain under the British rule but the pother half adopted the Tri colored flag as their National flag and kept that for representation. And the design of the tri color flag remained the every same and was unchanged even when the entire Irish republic was officially established in the year 1949 and the exact date for that happening was the 18th of April.
There is an important and interesting fact related to the Irish flag and cocktail. In the Ireland a cocktail is made and its name is ‘Irish flag’. The ingredient proportion to make that cocktail is; mint spirit of 2cc, Irish cream of 2cc, and grand Marnier of 2cc. when the ingredients in the given proportion is poured and mixed very gently in the manner, like gently down with the help of long spoon so that the colors of the liquids or ingredients not mix-up. And at last when the drink is made, its colors will totally resemble with the national Irish flag color, that is; orange, white and green.

The colors and design used in the National flag of Ireland is very clear and also simple. The flag is based on a three color theme which comprises chiefly of the colors orange, white and green. The proportions followed to divide the flags dimensions are of the following ratios 1:2 respectively and the flag is of rectangular shape. The colors are distributed along the Irish flag colors in the form of three stripes which are equal in size and are paced in vertical shape. The first stripe from the left side of the flag is of the color green the stripe to the far right side of the flag is of the color orange and between the two stripes is the third stripe which is of the color white. It is a fact known through history that the colors used in the National flag of Ireland have no specific meaning but many beliefs with respect to their significance have been long going around. There was also a blue Irish flag. One of those beliefs is that the green stripe which is first from the left side is used to represent the Catholics and the orange color in the far right side stripe is used to represent the Protestants. The white is used in the middle stripe to represent the unity and peace between the two sets. Another belief states that the color orange was used to merge the Protestants with the Irish freedom movement.
