Kentucky Flag
The flag of Kentucky history regarding the adoption of the flag is not very old, as the adoption or some modifications occurred in the starting and middle era of the 19th century. But there is very big difference between adoption of flag and statehood recognition of Kentucky. The Kentucky joined the union of United States of America on 1st June 1792, and emerged as a state of America. The Kentucky joined the union at the start of the 20th series. The Kentucky is the 15th number state that joined the amalgamation. The first or actual design of the flag was made in March 1918. But later on, some modifications were introduced in the flag on 14th June 1962 and the current flag of Kentucky is the result of those modifications and currently used as the national Kentucky flag. The seal of the state was made in 1792. The other name by which the Kentucky is also known is the bluegrass state.
The design and the coloration of National State Flag of Kentucky are very unique and a little bit has the feeling of a very nice looking painting on the wall. The proportions used in this National State Flag of Kentucky are used that follow the ratio 2:4 respectively. The flag, like mentioned above, is a plain blue sort of like Navy blue colored background. The center part of that background contains a circular image and that is surrounded by the border of two branches and the top part is covered by writing in capital and bold font style. The writing contains the words common wealth of Kentucky and that is there because the name of the state is Kentucky. The bottom branches are of the color green and the flowers on their top are in the color yellow as well. The circle that is present in the center contains the picture of two men which are the Pioneer and Statesmen. They are standing facing one another and are embracing one another. There is also writing on the header and the footer of the two men. The top line reads united we stand and the bottom line on the National State Flag of Kentucky reads divided we fall as this is the motto followed by the state itself. The two men embracing are also there to represent that very factor. The blue color is used to represent the sky as the sky is endless and has no restraints. That is why it is used as a symbol to show that the state is part of a Free country of the United states and that Kentucky is a member. There are two overlapping sprays around the state seal and also goldenrod is drawn. This goldenrod is the official flower of the state. The two men featured with the state motto depict the nation of the Kentucky that act on the state motto.
