Louisiana Flag
The National State Flag of Louisiana is the one that was adopted in 19th century. But like the other state flags of the America, there is a big gap between the adoption of the flag and the recognition of the state as statehood. The Louisiana became a state of United States of America in 18th century while the flag adoption occurred after one century. The Louisiana came into the union of United States of America on 30th April 1812 and recognized as state. The country is a part of the United States of America and they adopted their flag in that year and after that gave various states their unique state status. The original adoption of the flag was happened in July 1912, but later on, modifications were introduced in the flag. The flag that is used by the country currently is approved in 1996, which makes it the newer design flag of the world. Louisiana joined the union at the end of the 20th series, as the Louisiana is the 18th number state of the America who gained its recognition of statehood. The seal of the state was accepted by the officials in 1902.

The flag of Louisiana is very unique and there is not any resemblance with any other state flag of America or with any other flag of the world, depicting the humanity and sacrifices of high level. There is a use of black color but not in big amount, only used for the outline purpose. The flag is made with the proportion of 2:3. The color of the base of the National State Flag of Louisiana is a sky blue or light blue color. There is the monogram in the center which is a big bird, its wings open, the bird is a sea bird that eats fish and is known as a pelican. The bird is shown sitting out side its nest and the nest has three of the bird’s chicks in its center. The big bird seems to be feeding them as their mouths are open. It is shown that the pelican brown mother is tearing her breast, to show that if she doesn’t find food for feeding her children then for that she can tear off her own flesh instead of keeping her children hungry. This shows the self sacrifices. The bird, the nest and the chicks are all made in white color and is out lined by black color on the National State Flag of Louisiana. The flag is over all of rectangular shape which makes it similar to many other flags used by many different countries. There is a banner below that bird and its nest and has the word in bold font of blue color which read LOVE, Justice and confidence.
The meaning of the colors and the design are also very simple and unique. However, when the flag of this particular State has reached a stage where it can no longer be flown, it should be buried and not burnt in a ceremony with great respect. The modern explanation of the flag is that the yellow color is used to identify opportunity, the blue color is used to identify the Ocean and the white is to signify the protective people.
