Maine Flag
The National State Flag of Maine is one which was officially adopted by the country as its national flag to represent itself as a sovereign nation on the 12th of December and the year for that happening 1963. The country adopted this flag as the National Flag of Maine after it gained its independence and won the status as one of the States of the United States of America and Maine is also a member. The date on which the Maine gained its position as a sovereign state of the United States of America on 15th march 1820. The Maine is the state that joined the United States union in the start of the 20th series that is on 23rd number. The other name by which the Maine is also known among the other states of the America is the Pine Tree state. The blue color used on the flag is almost same as the flag color used for the United States national flag.

The design of the Maine flag totally depicts the state itself and its easy to explain. The proportions of the National Flag of Maine are 2:3 respectively. The design and the coloration of the National State Flag of Maine are very simple and yet it is also very unique. The exact color is that of the base is very nice and eye catching. The background of the flag is of the color plain blue or navy blue color. The cloth used for the flags is often in the form of a silky material and that is the commonly used material.

In the middle of the shield a moose rests underneath a tall pine tree. A farmer and seaman symbolize the job that citizens did in early times. The North Star is drawn at the head of state motto that star is used as a guiding star for the travelers of early times. The shield features the motto of the state, the writing of the state motto is: "Dirigo". The meaning of this motto is: ‘I guide’.
Defense for their freedom and the initial struggle is represented by the use of the shield monogram in the center of the National Flag of Maine. There is a banner under the shield and that has a word written on it. The word written there is the name of the state that is MAINE.
