Mali Flag

The history of the flag of Mali is not very old only dates back in the 19th century. The Mali’s flag is also painted with the blood-shed of the freedom fighters. Mali was under the monarchy of France for a long time. In 1959 a Mali federation was formed in which the Sudan Senegal and the French ware included. Under the guidance of the Mali federation first flag of Mali was adopted dated on 4th April 1959. But later on, in august 1960 the Senegal left the federation. So after Senegal left the flag of Mali experienced the first variation in 1961. When the Mali become independence on 22nd September 1960, and came out from the rule of the France, then after few months of independence the national flag of Mali was adopted on 1st march 1961.
