Maryland no doubt is the state that is a member state of the United States of America, however, when it comes to terms of independent state then its independent representation is a must. The history of the Maryland itself is very old as compare to the history of the Maryland flag. As the flag adoption happened in 19th century while the state recognition was happen two centuries back of adoption. As the Maryland became a state of America and joined the union on 28th April 1788. The modern explanation of the flag is that the yellow color is used to signify opportunity, the red for the blood shed during the fight for independence, the other colors are representing as they have been mentioned above.
