The Nevada history is older than the adoption of the Nevada flag history. The other name of the Nevada or the nick name or the name by which Nevada is known is Silver state. A competition was held for the designing of the Nevada state flag. Lot of entries came for the designing of the flag and many design were submitted. But very few were accepted for consideration. The design submitted by the Louis shellback 111 was approved and chosen as the national flag of Nevada and after some corrections approved as the official flag of Nevada.
