North Korea Flag

The Flag of North Korea was officially adopted on the 8th of September and the year for that was 1948 the age of this flag is hence considered to be quite old when kept in comparison with the other flags that are used by other countries to represent themselves worldwide. During the time span of World War II the United States of America and the USSR had divided the entire continent and the United States has control and occupation over the southern part of it and the USSR has occupation over the Northern part of the continent. The description of the Flag of North Korea is very unique and is very interesting as well as being very beautiful. If ever anybody was to ask as to what the colors of the North Korean Flag are the answer would be a very simple one and that would be, three colors and those are: red, blue and white. The North Korean Flag has a base which is of the color Red, upon that red base in the North Korean Flag are two stripes one is at the top half of the red base and one is on the bottom half of the red base. The two stripes at the top and bottom are of the color Blue respectively. There is on the North Korean Flag just above the bottom blue stripe is a thin white colored stripe and just below the top placed blue stripe is another white colored thin stripe. There is also on this North Korean Flag another picture which is situated on the red base towards the left side of the North Korean flag. That picture is of a red colored five point star and that is made in the center of a white colored circle.

The meanings of the colors used in the North Korean Flag are very simple and unique and hence would be easy to explain. The Blue color used in the stripes is used to represent Sovereignty; it is also to represent Peace and Friendship. The red color which is used in the base of the North Korean flag is used to represent the sense of the revolutionary patriotism that the people display. The purity and the pure culture of the people and the North Korean culture are represented by the use of the color white in the North Korean Flag. The communist philosophy has been represented with the use of the red colored, five points star. And the white circle which is found around the five point red star is used to represent the yin-yang symbol. It is also seen through out history that the country which is now known as Korea alone before it separated also used the same flag to represent them. It would be a very interesting factor that one would like to keep in mind and know regarding the history of the North Korean Flag as it has already been mentioned above that it is a unique factor that before separation form the original country the entire Korean country used the same flag. The proportions that are used to define the dimensions in the flag of North Korea which was first a National Flag of Korea as well are ones which carry the following ratios that are 1:2 respectively and that is evenly distributed. The flag of North Korea is also like most of the other flags of the world one which is of Rectangular shape and is not square.
