Panama Flag
The official Panamanian Flag was adopted on the 20th of December and the year was 1903, and then it was adopted on a provisional basis in the year 1904 by the constituent assembly of Panama. However even if the Panamanian flag was adopted it was still not definitely approved until the year 1925. Panama was a colony of Spain from the 16th century until the year 1821. After they had gained their independence and freedom from Spain they joined with Colombia and called that as one of its provinces. Finally on 3rd of November 1903 Panama gained independence from Colombia with full encouragement and full military support provided to them by the United States. The U.S. then obtained agreement to construct the Panama Canal and thus paid $10 million U.S. and a yearly payment of $250 000 per annum. The Panama Canal, the property it is constructed on and the area surrounding it is leased to the U.S. and comes under straight control of United States.

The description of the flag of Panama is not very difficult to explain but it is a very unique designed flag. The colors used are very simple and if asked ever what are the colors that make up the Panamanian flag the answer would be simple, only three colors and those are red, blue and white, the Panamanian flag has a very unique design as it is divided up into four sections that are in the form of squares. The top section has two squares one the right side one is white in color, and the left side square section on the Panamanian flag is red in color, in the bottom section again the right side square section is white and the left side is blue. It is designed so that the white square is on top of the blue from the left side of the flag of Panama and on the right the red square is on top of a white one. In the two white square sections are the pictures of two five cornered or five points stars, the color of the stars is again in red and blue color. The two colors in the Panamanian flag are there to ideally represent the two opposing political parties that are present in Panama. The white color is used to represent the peace and harmony with which both parties live in the country and also to represent equality betweens the rights of these two parties. The blue color square is represents the Pacific Ocean and the red symbolizes the loss of lives and the blood shed that was a result of the fight for freedom. The colors of the stars that are present in the Panamanian flag also have their own unique meanings and representations. The blue star represents virtues of purity and honesty and the red star is there to signify the power of law. When given the meaning of them both together they are meant to represent loyalty and resilience. The design for the Panamanian flag was given by a man named Mr. Manual Amador Jr. and was made by his wife named: Ossa de Amador.
