Romania Flag

The official Romanian flag was finally adopted on the 27th of December in the year 1989. It is also an older flag as compared to many other flags that are used by different countries around the world. The older version of the flag was not a vertical shaped stripe flag but was rather a horizontal shaped striped flag which was introduced to the people and made the official flag in the year 1848 by the nationalists. In the year 1861, Romania was established when Walachia and Moldavia united. The new Romanian country adopted a red top stripe, and yellow middle stripe and a blue bottom stripe. The flag was containing horizontal stripes. The shape of the Romanian flag picture was changed from a horizontal shape to a vertical shape after the flag was influenced greatly by the French Flag. It was then changed to a vertically shaped flag in 1867. On 9th of May 1877, Romania actually gained its independence from the Ottoman Empire and about one year after there independence the vertically shaped flag was used as the country’s national flag. It was also during the years 1867 to 1989 that the Romanian flag that was used as the national flag had a picture of the coat of arms in the center of it, on the yellow stripe.

The description that can be given of the Romanian flag is not very difficult to explain if someone wants to ask then it would not be hard to tell that what the colors of the flag of Romania are the answer would be simple and that would be: there are only three colors. The colors are also known as commonly primary colors, red, blue and yellow color.

The colors are present on the Romanian flag in the form of three different stripes which were first horizontal but are now vertically shaped. The stripe on the left side of the Romanian Flag is of the color blue, the stripe in the middle is of the color yellow, and the stripe at the right side is red in color. To describe the meaning of each of the stripes and their colors it is also a very easy thing to do. if anyone wants to ask what are the three colors representing then it is a very simple answer, the answer would be the that: the red, the yellow and the blue all the three colors are representing the union between the Moldova country and the union with the Walachia country. These two countries came together and are known as the two principalities that form Romania. These very three colors yellow, red and blue can also be found in the coat of arms of these former states which are the state of Moldova and the state of Walachia which joint to make Romania as it is mentioned above as well. The proportions of this flag are again similar to the flags of the world and that is that they hold the following dimensions in the ratios of 2:3 respectively. It would also be very interesting to note, that the three colors which are red. Yellow and blue of the flag of Romania and the Flag of Moldova are more or less the same with a few verifications. The Romanian flag is as we know it today since the date it was adopted. One can see the photo of the Romanian Flag easily on the net. One can easily download these photos free of cost.
