Saudi Arabia Flag

Saudi Arabia is the one country that was not found or won by any ruler, it is the holy country which exit since the creations of Muslim community or it is better to say that it is exits from the creation of the world. The name was given to country in 17th or 18th century. The flag for the country was adopted in the 19th century on March 15, and the exact year for that happening was 1973. The white sword was included to the flag in the year 1906 and some more modifications were done in the flag in the year 1973.

Some important facts regarding the flag of Saudi Arabia are; the text written on the flag is read from flown side to the hoist side, opposite of English reading. The flag flown is allowed just for the official purpose because of the holy verses written on the flag. This is the reason the citizens of the Saudi Arabia fly the flag having plain green color background, featuring golden color palm tree and two crossed swords are drawn on the upper right corner of the flag.

The flag description is easy to explain as there is not any complicated emblem on the flag. The flag is made with the proportion of 2:3. The flag is like mentioned above it has a dark green colored background. The colors and description of the flag of Saudi Arabia symbol is very unique, as there is not any flag of the world which contains religion holy verses on the country flag. The flag of Saudi Arabia is one of the flags of the world as it is the unique one and consists of a plain green colored base which has Arabic text written in the white color and is called the Sahada. The Sahada is written in the middle of the flag. It is seen that below the text is the monogram which is a white sword that is seen pointing to wards the left side of the flag meaning towards the hoist part of the flag.

When we come to the meaning of the flag then it is very simple and totally related to the religion of the country that is ISLAM. The green color background depicts the strong association of Muslims with the Islam and referred to the prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H), who is the founder of Islam and guidance for the Muslims in the world. It also link up with the Fatimid dynasty. The white text, called the Sahada is the ultimate and universally known Muslim Statement of belief. It translation in English is:"There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is the Prophet of Allah”. While the white color sword on the flag is an insignia of justice and also referred to the first Saudi kind named Abdul Aziz ibn Saud.

The Saudi flag pictures are available on internet. One can fine both the official flag and also the flag that is used by the country citizens having completely different design. The printing of the official flag is less as compare to the general citizen flag because of the flag use, that’s almost 20% as compare official flag, which flown only on official buildings and on official events. The tearing or misuse of the official flag is strictly prohibited in the country, if someone commits this illegal activity he must be punished strictly by the government and officials.
