Slovenia Flag
The writing of history on Slovenia’s flag is simple as it is not so old. The adoption of the flag of Slovenia happened recently in the 90s era of the 19th century. But the roots of the color history are very old dated back in the 18th century. The colors of the flag of Slovenia are: white blue and red, is originated from the 18th century. At this time the Slovenia was part of the Empire of Austro-Hungarian. After the end of First World War in 1918, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was distorted and all of its small states spread and merged with other states and became a part of other big union. So the Slovenia was also detached from the kingdom of Austro-Hungarian and merged with the states of Slavic, in 1918. Thus, a new union was formed with the name of Yugoslavia. For a long time Slovenia connected with the Yugoslavia and in 1992, the Slovenia gained independence from the Yugoslavia and became a self-governing state. So just before the independence on 7th June 1991, the flag of Slovenia was adopted as the national flag of Slovenia.
In 1991, the coat of arms of the Slovenia country was designed by the artist of Slovenian named; Marko Pogacnik. Various attempts were made for the alteration of the flag of Slovenia, because the flag of Slovenia resembled a lot with the Russia’s flag. So last attempt was tried on October 2004 but of no use and flag of Slovenia is still same

The coat of arms is drawn at the center of the top two strips of the flag (white and blue strips). The country coat of arms is designed in a shield pattern. The borders of the coat of arms are of red color, and there are three-peaked Triglav Mountains drawn in the coat of arms and three yellow color stars are drawn above the mountains. The Triglav is the highest peak in the Slovenia.
The meaning of the Slovenia flag is simple. The coat of arms’ three stars depict the independence of the Slovenia and these stars are taken from the 15th century Duchy of Celje arms. The two curly blue color lines under the mountains depict the rivers of the country. The blue, white and red colors are the traditional colors of the Slovenia and they are usually referred as the Pan-Slavic colors when combined. These colors were taken from the nation of Slavic from the mid 19th century, and are inspired by the Russia flag. These colors can be seen now in most of the Slavic nation’s flags, and now these colors depict the unity and the sovereignty of the Slavic.
