Sports Flags

Flags are used in many activities of life, to represent these activates, events and celebration of special occasions.

Flags also play a very important role, in symbolizing some ideas or concepts. For example in auto car racing, yellow color flag means that the driver should change the direction. So here the flags are used for regulation and signaling special messages to the drivers. In sea port correct waving of flags, on correct place and at correct time is very important, as it is considered as the difference between life and death. Similarly in sports activities of flags are also playing a vital role. Avoiding the use of flags is dangerous, and may results to an unwanted situation. The sport flags are using in sport from many year in different forms. The main purpose of using the sports flags from official side to signify the fans, players and other officials about what is happing and other related information about certain rules, at certain occasions. In auto race the auto race flags are used to communicate with the drivers and in sailors’ race the sailors flags are used to communicate with the sailors. Every team has it own team sport flags. The flags are representing a team during the game. Nearly all teams which are taking part in the game are using their national flags as the team sport flags. Sport is generic category which represents a lot of game. For each game there are one or more than one flags. The sports flags are also categorize with respect to colors and designs. The very popular flags which are common in many games are called checkered flags and the sports are known as checkered flag sports. In checkered flags two colors are printed on the flag with equal small rectangular of square areas. If more than one checkered flags are used then the sports is name as checkered flags sports.

The sports flags can also be categorized with respect to the size of the flags. Some flags are mini sport flags and the others are large sport flags. Some time the mini sport flags are waved by the fans, but these flags should not signify a game rule, other wise the players may be confused. The meaning of sports flags also become changed with respect to the number of waving. Some flags carry different meaning when waved once, and different meaning for waving twice or more than twice. It is the responsibility of sports officials to fly and wave the sports flags at an appropriate place and time. Traditionally the fans fly the team flag, to show their support to a specific team or in other words when the supporters are waving the team flag of a team they are considered the supporter of that team.

Some time the fans have flags with color logo of the team or pictures of their favorite players. Before the game start the team flags are flown on special flags stands, which represent the participating teams in the game. There are some sports organizations which also have their own sport flags. For example Special Olympics flags, FIFA flags, Goodwill Games flags, Commonwealth Games flags, he International Olympic committee flags. Many companies are making and designing sports flags.
