Sweden Flag

The National Flag of Sweden was officially adopted way back in the 16th century. However, no exact date is clear. It is seen however that the National Flag of Sweden was readopted on the 22nd of June in the year 1906. The flag is considered to be one of the oldest flags in the world. It was stated in a royal warrant, issued by King George III of Sweden, that all battle flags of Sweden should have a yellow cross on them. Sweden and Norway became one from the year 1814 to the year 1906 and an emblem representing their union was added to the upper left corner of the National Flag of Sweden. In 1905, the Sweden and Norway union dissolved and the emblem was removed in the next year i.e. 1906, resulting in the current flag
