The National Flag of Trinidad and Tobago is one that comprises of three stripes that are placed diagonally along the flag and are consisting of the colors red, white and black respectively. The flag of Trinidad and Tobago was adopted officially as the national flag of the country to represent it self on a world wide basis and that happened on August 31, in year 1962; when Trinidad and Tobago fought hard and struggled and gained independence from Britain. The black color is used and it represents the unity and strength of the people of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as gives the representation of the natural wealth of the country. The white color is also used and represents the surrounding sea. Together, the colors are used as they are meant to represent earth, water and fire, which are the elements that connect the nation's people to the past present and future. The meaning as to the design and the coloration is also very unique and simple the color is used to represent peace the red color is used to represent rain and water and the color red is used to symbolize the fertility of the land.
