This flag, whenever seen, demands respect from the public since it is the flag of the city where the people are present, and therefore, is respected by the people and the citizens worldwide. As seen in most countries when their flags are torn and dilapidated in state, they should be burnt in a simple ceremony; the same is the case with Flag of the Ukraine. However, when the flag of this particular country has reached a stage where it can no longer be flown, it should be buried but not burnt just to show respect to the flag. An interesting factor to get in mind and to note regarding this flag is that when Ukraine was under the control and clutches of the Soviet rule, this flag was banned and could not be used as a symbol of nationalism and the Ukrainian SSR had its own flag with a unique design.
