Those are blue and white, the colors are distributed along the national flag of Uruguay in a very unique pattern and that is the official first picture of Uruguayan flag design. It has seventeen horizontal stripes alternately blue and white in color, but now the design has nine stripes that are blue and white and are in the following pattern: top stripe is white then blue, white then blue, then white and then blue and that goes on in the same sequence and they end up making a total of nine stripes of which four are blue and five are white in color. All from top till bottom are stripes and there is like a design that seems that the original base of the flag was all white and the blue stripes have just been added on in an after thought. The uniqueness of the Uruguay flag is as there is situated in the top left hand side corner of the flag. There is a sort of white colored square shape which seems to have a monogram which is with a yellow/gold sun and its positioning is right in its center and it is seen as the flag is flown that the sun has 16 alternating straight and curvy waves. That is why one wave is curvy and the other is straight and so on. The meaning and significance of the design and coloration is also very unique. The sun emblem is considered to be symbolic of the 'Sun of May'; and it is a symbol of freedom and independence. And the dimensions of the Flag of Uruguay are 2:3 respectively.
