US Marine Flags
The United States Marine Corp Flag is adopted on 18th January, 1939. The maitnaince of official battale color is the responsibility of Marine Barracks; Washington D.C. In 1965, the position of color segeant was designated for the first time, and was held by Gunnery Sgt. Shelton L. Eakin for the first time. Very little information is available about the early US Marine Corp flags. Some indications show that the Grand Union Flag was carried by battatlion under the Captancy of Samuel Nicholas on 3rd March, 1776. During 1830s and 1840s, US Marine Corps Flag consisted of a white field with gold fringe, and a design of an eagle was placed in the center. Befor the Maxicon-American War the legend "To the Shores of Tripoli" was place at the top border side. After the above prescribe war the legend was re-written as "From Tripoli to the Halls of the Montezumas."
During Maxicon and Civil War the United States Marine Corp Flag was similar to the US National Flag. In 1876 Marines carried the national colors, Stars and Stripes with "U.S. Marine Corps" decorated in yellow color on the middle red strip. In 1914 another standard was carried by US Marines. Some orders were issued in 2nd April, 1921, to make the flag with out yellow fringe, and with out the string. U.S. Marine Corps, decorated over the flag with needle work. In 14th March, 1922 another order was issued to use all nation colors with yellow fringe and wording over the flag. After World War 1, anohter practice of attaching of silver bands, which carries specific decoration and battles, was adopted. It was continuou till 23rd March, 1961.

According to Marine Corps Order No. 4 of 18th April 1925 of official color for US Marine selected was gold and scarlet. These colors were not visible until in 1939, when new colors for new design were approved. This design is adopted till now. For a brief time after World War 1, the incription of battale honors were directly depited with the help of colors, and this practice was continuou, till 1936. On 9th June, 1936, they realized that because of the multiplicity of battale honors, it is not possible to depict every honor with a color, so this procedure was considered as impractical. The history shows that the United States Marine Corp Flags were revolutionarized with the passage of time, and there was a great effect of Wars on the design of the flags.
The description of the US Marine Corp Flag is simple. The Background of the flag is maroon (redish). The corps symbol is in the center of the flag, which in gray and golden colors. Beneath the corps symbol there is an addition of words “United States Marine Corps” over a white scroll. There are two versions of United States Marine Corp Flag one is indoor and the other is outdoor. The indoor parade flag is bordered with golden fringe, while the outdoor parade flag is plain.

The US Marine Corp Flag lapel pins are also available in market, and usually wear by the head of the US Marines staff on the official events of the US Marine or especially on the independence day of the United States. Beneath Corp symbol the string “United States Marine Corps” is written over a white scroll. The Indoor version of the flag has gold fringe border, while the outdoor version is plain.
