Zimbabwe Flag

The official flag of Zimbabwe was adopted finally on the 18th of April and the year for that was 1980. It was during this time that the country had managed to gain freedom and release itself from the clutches of Britain and also managed to change its name from southern Rhodesia to what it is now known as Zimbabwe. The independence took place in the year 1965 and they changed the name in the year 1980, thus adopting their own flag. The colors used in the flag of Zimbabwe are those which incorporate the traditional pan-African colors, the colors used in the flag are the ones which are known to be used by one of the nationalists groups who fought very long and very hard for the freedom of Zimbabwe. The colors used are such which as mentioned above is pan-African and are there fore used in many African and ex-African colonies as they stand for African independence and Unity. The Ethiopian Flag is seen to be the one which has influenced many flags of Africa as it is the oldest country of Africa to have gained Independence first.
